Finished Projects

"8-Shot"

We split into small teams and are developed short films from scratch, script to post-production. The only rule we followed for "8-shot" was that the entire production could only have 8 shots. It was fun and we premiered them at Magdelena's Tea House. The finished videos will be posted here soon.

48/5 Film Competition

Over one weekend, filmmaking teams had just 48 hours to make a 5-minute short film. From beginning to end, all production, from scriptwriting to final credits, must take place within the designated time frame. At the start of the event, all the teams were given the same theme ( i.e., "Time is of the essence") and different props, lines of dialogue and characters. All of these randomly selected elements must be evident in the finished film for the film to be eligible for an award.

48/5 Film Competition returned February 23-25, 2007! Continue to watch http://www.elff.com for more details! If you are interested in participating, please contact Sandra to e-mail Kristen Case, East Lansing Film Festival Program Director for next year. http://www.elff.com/index/news/winter_48_5_film_contest/

"UNCONVENTIONAL"

A local indie movie. Support indie films! And this one is funny.

"Almost"

Prof. Bill Vincent made a short film at his house this October. It is about a guy trying to get laid at a party basically. It was quite interesting.

Rules:
1. Each group should let me know the projects they are working on so that I know what to expect for turnout. You can sign up by emailing me at filmclub@msu.edu or at our meetings.
2. Films are due after break, January 15, 2007. I am going to contact Magdelena's about showing them again, so please be mindful of this deadline. You have plenty of time to complete your projects.
3. Films can be in color or black and white.
4. Music can be used. There has been some requests for a wider allowance of music, so it has been decided that anything may be used.
5. Intertitles, screens with words of dialogue or narrative printed on them, are allowed.
6. Films can be any length, from 3 minutes to an hour. Don't use time as an excuse not to get something done.
7. Participate! If you need help with anything, let me know. We're all here to help each other.
8. Here's a website that has info you might find useful:
